Forensic
File Copy
Certus EDM provides complete and reliable on-site file collection using forensically sound methods. Incomplete and undocumented electronic discovery collections can be costly to both the client and their legal counsel. When collecting electronic data, Certus EDM uses processes and applications that preserve and verify collected electronic files with minimal impact on our client systems. Features of our Forensic File Copy services include:
- Forensically sound file copies retaining file contents,
time stamps and metadata.
- Chain of custody documentation.
- Multiple directory, file extension, date range filtering, and file hashing and verification.
- Complete process with comprehensive audit trail.
- Remote capture of laptops, thumb drives and PDA drives.
Forensic Drive Image
Imaging is the industry-accepted standard for the preservation of computer-based evidence. Much different than a simple copy or a backup of your data, imaging is a non-invasive method of producing a complete sector-by-sector copy of an electronic storage device. It is the electronic version of "freezing the scene." The image can be stored on a durable medium such as a DVD and is used as the working copy for examination and production of evidence. In addition to Forensic File Copy features, Forensic Drive Image also include:
- Hard drive replication bit by bit capturing active data, changed file types and file fragments.
- Deleted file discovery and collection.
- Imaging of encrypted and password protected data.
